Candidates are arriving from all over Italy to face the Sant'Anna School admission competition. The competition begins with the written tests for Medicine on Monday 28 August, at 2.00 p.m., and Tuesday 29 August, at 9.00 a.m., continuing with Engineering on the afternoon of Tuesday 29 August and in the morning of Wednesday 30, with Social Sciences between Thursday 31 August and Friday 1 September. The written examinations conclude with the Agrarian and Plant Biotechnology tests on Tuesday 5 September and Wednesday 6 September. In addition to the number of applications received, which is 20% more than in 2022, the number of student places is also increasing: 29 for the Social Sciences academic class and 29 for the Experimental and Applied Sciences academic class, for a total of 58.

In addition to these places, there will be 10 places financed by foundations and private companies that share with the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna the values of merit and talent, promoting their implementation for the creation of innovation and development. The increase in the number of places has also been made possible by the Sant'Anna School's efforts to acquire new spaces dedicated to housing, learning and research for its students.

"In recent years, the Sant'Anna School has worked hard to increase its impact and the number of students. We have moved in two directions: increasing infrastructure and partnerships with foundations and the private sector," said Rector Sabina Nuti.

To welcome future students, "Pisa Welcomes Talent", the Sant'Anna School's initiative to make the encounter with the city of Pisa a memorable experience for all candidates, also returns along with the competition. In fact, to those who take part in the admission tests, the Sant'Anna School offers reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses: an action that aims to break down every possible obstacle to the enhancement of merit and individual talent. Added to this is a set of initiatives to make a stay in Pisa, a university city par excellence, a unique experience for both the young talents and those accompanying them, with discounts for accommodation in affiliated facilities or at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna's colleges and other opportunities to learn more about Pisa's artistic, cultural and environmental riches through collaborations with museums and foundations.
